What to do if you get glue on your Talaskye press-ons

Acetone is usually a no-go for press-ons—but if you get glue on the surface during application (hey, it happens), don’t stress. Just act fast. With the right steps, you can clean it off without ruining your set. No panic, no damage.

It’s much easier to remove glue before it sets so if you notice it right away, clean it off as soon as possible. Because you aren’t soaking the nails, just lightly rubbing the glue off, it won’t ruin their shape or damage the finish if done quickly and carefully.

1. Dampen a lint-free wipe, cotton pad, or Q-tip with acetone

Make sure it’s damp but not dripping. Gently press it on the glue spot, rub with light pressure in small circular motion until the glue starts to dissolve. This should take a few seconds.

2. If the glue is stubborn or fully dried

Use a soft nail file or buffer to gently file the glue only. This helps thin the top layer so the acetone works faster. Avoid filing the actual press-on nail as this will damage the top coat’s finish.

Removing glue might take a few second. Filing too hard can damage the finish if you’re not careful. Using too much acetone for too long can also dull the finish.

Important tips

  • Don’t soak your press-on in acetone - this can dull or warp them.

  • Use a gently hand when filing or rubbing as harsh pressure can scratch and dull the design.

If you're trying to remove your entire press-on set, follow these proper removal steps.
